Because of the popularity of LED rope lights for commercial and residential use the UL standards have been up dated and LED rope light is no longer field cuttable.

LED Rope light – Special Instructions

LED rope lighting is brighter than incandescent rope lights.  It has a longer life but the applications are similar.

Please see cutting instructions – LED is cuttable every 36” and must be cut where you see the scissors mark and the information that is on the rope light.

Please do not cut when plug into wall outlet

Make sure that when sharp pins of the male connector are inserted they are touching the wires in the rope light itself – If they do not touch they will not make contact and not light.

Also make sure you put a plastic end cap on the rope before you put into electric socket.  IF NOT IT WILL CAUSE A SHOCK HAZARD.

Use caution when working with rope lights and check your local fire ordinances.  Rope lighting should be cut and installed by a licensed electrician only
